Become a Member

Becoming a member of EARS Inc. means you can vote at our Annual General Meeting and travel overseas to assist with our valued work. Full membership of EARS Inc. requires you to uphold the EARS Inc. statement of belief. Associate membership is available to those who wish to support the work of EARS Inc. but do not feel they can accept the statement of belief. Only full members are entitled to vote at Annual General Meetings.

Volunteer Overseas

Audiologists and audiometrists are invited to volunteer their services to work alongside our field workers to provide training for local health workers in many areas, such as hearing and balance assessment, diagnosis and management, the making of earmoulds,  the fitting of hearing aids and hearing rehabilitation.

In return for your volunteer services you will have the unique opportunity to visit a developing country and experience life, not as a tourist, but as a guest of the local people. You will work in co-operation with other established health, aid and other volunteer organisations. 

Overseas work is an opportunity to consolidate clinical experience by finding inventive and effective ways of overcoming different issues, due to limited resources, different climates and different cultural issues. You will find working in a low- or middle-income country can be a challenging yet extremely rewarding experience.

Work Requirements: EARS Inc. requires volunteers to be a member of our organisation. If you would like a membership application form, complete the Contact form and we’ll be in touch. A policy outlining responsibilities and accountabilities of volunteers and EARS Inc. is currently in development.

Volunteer Locally

If you have skills in general administration, marketing, accounting/bookkeeping, communication and social media, fund raising or legal advice and would like to volunteer your time, we would love to hear from you. If you work in the hearing or speech industry, we also need professionals to provide remote supervision and Teleaudiology, and to deliver lectures and training online to our students.
